Newcastle United Football Club always seem to be attracted to all the wrong things.
Having been relegated to the Championship after years of top-flight football, they have now decided that ugly is the new pretty. See Steven Taylor try unsuccessfully to put a brave face while showing off their new away
jersey of Gold & Beige stripes. Horrendous!

As if it could not get any worst for the Geordies

Newcastle fans are still reeling from the relegation and they definitely did not need this low blow. It is rumoured that Newcastle fans have experienced bouts of nausea since the
jersey was launched.
Back at the top flight, retro seems to be the in thing now for champions Manchester United. After their blue third
jersey to mark the 40 year anniversary of their first European Cup triumph, the new home
jersey is similar to that which was worn 100 years ago when Man Utd first move to Old Trafford. You got it, it's to mark their 100 years playing in OT.

Man Utd hope to celebrate 100 years at Old Trafford by going back in time. Did they win the league back then?

It is definitely not a 'love at first sight' design. But I have come to accept its retro look and feel. Personally I am not a fan of chevrons, but after looking at it a few times, it's not that bad. I am looking forward to see women wearing the women's jersey what with the chevron across their chest.
The design for Chelsea's home jersey is a bit unappealing. I actually thought it looked good the first time, but after a few time, it seems that there is just too much going on. The shapes on the jersey is a bit too distracting. Looks patched up.

|
Patched up? Were we talking about the shirt or Chelsea FC?
|
I have no complaints on their new away jersey though. Ala Inter Milan but with horizontal lines, it looks neat and you know much more thought was put in this than the home jersey. Ironically, ex-manager Jose Mourinho is currently the manager of Inter.

Chelsea try to keep the spirit of Mourinho alive by replicating Inter Milan's jersey

The yellow on white on the Tottenham shirt looks unnecessary. I think minus the yellow bit, it'll look like their previous
jersey, but it would definitely look better.

|
Irrelevant yellow lines, much like Tottenham last season

European champs, Barca have not strayed far from their traditional blue and garnet colored uniform. This season, they opted a vertical striped jersey. Because of the color combination and the lack of any significant designs, Barca's jersey isn't really outstanding. But as always, the combination of blue and garnet make Barca's jersey unique.

|
Staying true to tradition, Barcelona adds a few more vertical lines to last season's jersey
|
Dissapointingly, AC Milan's jersey look cheap. Is this due to the fact that they are in financial crisis? I doubt they would have a good
season anyway.

|
The new home jersey is a true reflection of AC Milan's financial woes

However, I love the detailed design on the Real Madrid new jersey. Yeah, it's
still the plain old white, but the jersey looks lovely. Too bad I'm not a Madrid
fan.

Classy jersey, classy team. But can Real Madrid win the La Liga with class?
