Hoffenheim are missing the creativity of Franco Zuculini but still have Bosnian Vedad Ibisevic to turn to for goals
German Bundesliga 2009/10
Hoffenheim vs Borussia M'gladbach

Rhein-Neckar-Arena (Sinsheim), 20 February 2010, Kick-off, 03:30 (GMT +8:00)

Hoffenheim
All the good work early this season may not be worth anything if Hoffenheim continue with their current slump. They are given a tough assignment tonight against an unpredictable M'gladbach.

They can take comfort in the fact that two of their three home loses came at the hands of Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, two team sitting high up in the league. However, encouragement came in the form of a recent home 2-1 win over strugglers Hannover 96. Unfortunately, they are facing some sort of mini selection crisis as they have a few regular starters unavailable due to injury or suspension, including striker Chinedu Obasi. However, topscorer Vedad Ibisevic is available and will lead the attack for Hoffenheim.

A 2-4 away win over the same opposition in September should be encouragement for the home team in order to not drop the quality of their play. Tonight will be more of 3-points for them to lose and given their recent dip in form, they would be definitely be out to get a result and not let the 3 points slip from their grasp.

Borussia M'gladbach
M'gladbach have not won an away match since November and have lost three since.

They were made to sweat by Nurnberg last week at home and may find an away match against Hoffenheim a tougher assignment. The visitors may be a bit intimidated by the hosts after being beaten 2-4 at home earlier in the season and may just take a too cautious approach that could probably lead to their downfall. A concern for coach Michael Frontzeck is that his strikers have failed to find the net in two attempts on the road which cost them the match at Mainz. In addition, it does not help their confidence in knwoing that this season they have lost to bottom clubs Nurnberg and Freiburg as well as a 0-0 draw with the club in last place, Hertha BCS.

However, he would be well aware that Hoffenheim have conceded almost more than half of their home tally of goals against in the last 5 matches so he knows that his team are in a shout for at least a goal.

Match Prediction
The home team would definitely go on the offensive right from the start and do not expect any shortage of goals either especially from Hoffenheim. Hoffeinheim have only been kept out twice this season at home so the probability of them scoring goals is definitely good. M'gladbach may struggle though especially with the knowledge that this arena is not an easy place for visiting teams and they have lost to Hoffenheim in two occasions here. The advantage is still with Hoffenheim as it would not be long before they hit their stride again and given their last home win against Hannover 96, it would not be much of a surprise if they win this. A 3-2 win for the home team looks a likely possibility.
