Wayne Rooney struck his 8th goal in all competition in just 6 matches against Pompey in the League and took his league tally to 21 goals.

The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo meant that this season, Rooney was able to operate fully as a striker and not confined to cutting in from the wings. Sure, he took time to get going, but nothing seems to stop him now.
